Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary medicine in which hypnosis is used to create a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility during which positive suggestions and guided imagery are used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues. Hypnotherapy can be used to treat anxiety, phobias, substance abuse including tobacco, undesirable spontaneous behaviors, and bad habits. Hypnosis is usually performed by a trained therapist who utilizes visualization and verbal repetition to induce a hypnotic state. Uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance. The person’s attention is so focused while in this state that anything going on around the person is temporarily blocked out or ignored
