Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems and emotional challenges. It aims to enable patients, or clients, to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed. The goal of psychotherapy is to build awareness, compassion, understanding, respect, empathy and acceptance towards yourself and others.
Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.
